Mommy vs. Toddler
Today was the first day in J's life where he has battled me on what he wanted to wear. I have always picked out his clothes, but today he didn't want to wear what I picked out. He wanted to wear his too big anteater shirt, while I wanted him to wear his warm sweatshirt with cute buttons and a little collar. J won. After all, the anteater shirt is ok, it matches his pants, and we aren't going anywhere. So, now I have a husband who is putting an end to certain outfits and a child who has an opinion about it, also. This is just great for Mommy.

Welcome to the clothes wars!! I usually have to give SB 2 or 3 choices, otherwise she'll drag everything (I don't want her to wear) out of her closet. The hardest thing is that she usually want to dress herself and will throw a fit if she can't do it herself. Sometimes it's just not practical for her to do it (if we're running late or if there are buttons), so those times turn into big wars if I can't distract her with something else or figure out a compromise. I hope it all goes well!
ReplyDeleteJackson,
ReplyDeleteYou should always wear what Mommy gets out for you. Also, you should act happy about it. This way, Mommy will buy you more toys. Take it from Grandpa, he knows.
