Our Easter Weekend

Well, the yucky stomach virus lingers on...
J had a relapse Friday night and was sick again last night. We are now on Day #13. As abnormal and exhausting as this whole mess is for us and J, his doctor isn't too concerned about it. He said it is still within the normal range of duration for a first time stomach virus! Poor guy is tired of Pedialyte, applesauce, dry cereal, etc. We did manage to have a little Easter fun.

My parents came into town to see us and my middle sister who lives nearby. Thankfully, this virus didn't scare them away from seeing J.

Oh, boy...an Easter Donald who sings and dances.

Yummy yogurt melts...my favorite

More surprises...

An Usborne Book...cool!

Easter Surprises/Cards from Grandparents, Cousins, Easter Bunny, etc. minus the three bags of yogurt melts. Mommy had to hide them until snack time. :0

While shopping for Easter eggs in Wal-mart one day, I spotted this cute little spinner that is used to dye eggs. I thought about how much J would like the whole spinning idea this year, and he would have so many more years to dye eggs the traditional way. I got it. It was a lot of fun, but he was "all done" after 3 eggs! Love the attention span of toddlers...usually he can stay focused a little longer...we'll blame it on the sickness. ;)

Getting the eggs ready to boil. Dave showed him how to put them in gently, and he did it that way. Good job, Little Guy!

Almost finished...letting them dry...then he has some Mickey and Donald stickers to put on them. My friend, Kelley, found a Mickey and Donald kit for him to use with the eggs. Too cute! By the way, Mommy dyed the 4th egg-the pink one!

We didn't get to celebrate Easter in a worship service this year because of everything going on with J. We sang with him and shared the importance of the day as best we could with him. We know that we'll talk about Christ in ways that he won't quite understand for some time, but we pray that he will one day start asking us questions. Most importantly, our prayer is that we will model for J a daily relationship with Christ and a love for His word.
