Jackson is 4 years, 9 mos. now! He is an incredibly sweet boy who loves to please, loves others, and just plain has a lot of JOY! His heart is tender, and there is such a silly side of him that reminds us of what childhood is all about. He is my guy who reminds us to be careful, who has a birthday, and freely gives kisses or tenderly plays with Mommy's hair. There is nothing more precious than this boy's voice and having him say the blessing or his prayers!
Jackson is in his last year of preschool and is playing soccer this fall. He had a wonderful experience at camp this summer and has had an amazing start to school. The teachers quickly noticed his speech gains, and he continues to demonstrate those daily. He got to experience many of his favorite things this summer: the POOL (can now swim the LENGTH of the pool), Carowinds (LOVES roller coasters), playdates (especially Chick-fil-A), tricycle/bike rides, playgrounds, time with cousins (especially the beach and trampolines at SkyHigh with David and John), tv time (Jake and the Pirates, Doc McStuffins, Mickey, Little Einsteins, etc.), being silly with Luke, playing chase on all fours for Luke's benefit, singing in the car, and visiting grandparents. He loves talking in his microphone, playing with his die cast pull back vehicles, playing on his scooter board, doing puzzles (opposites, what goes together, number quantites, etc.), playing board games, and the fun of wrestling with Daddy NEVER ends!
Luke is 14 mos. -- almost 15 mos. now! He is extremely entertaining with his desire to explore, try and discover new things, and stop at nothing. He is full of personality! He makes us smile and truly amazes us with the many things that he is learning and learning quickly! Luke is determined, sometimes seen as stubborn, but I think he will be a leader one day. He has his own ideas, considers others' ideas, but ultimately gets what he wants. He is fast moving, and most people pick up on the fact that he is a MESS within minutes of meeting him. He is a complete flirt, and he will use his charming smile (and four shiny teeth) to woo the pretty girls. He loves us so much, and Mommy just can't get enough of his cuteness!
Luke starts MMO next week. I really feel like he will be just fine. He loves playing and attention. In fact, he gets very serious about showing us his toys, stuffed animals, etc. I will see him pick up a toy, look at it, and then bring it right over to me with this "mommy, you have to see this" look! He likes to read books, put objects in containers, drawers, cabinets, etc. He will sometimes clean up his messes, come back for things he has hidden, and tries different things to see how they work. He likes talking Woody, his piggy bank, cups/tops that he tries to fit together, bubbles, and his outside car. He is starting to match up pieces on a wooden puzzle! He really likes the fine motor activities! Most of all, he likes throwing everything out of my lower kitchen drawer, finding a telephone, taking dvds out of the cabinets, shaking my Tums bottle, playing with his frog humidifier, and basically getting into things that he shouldn't have...exactly what he should be doing at this age!
