Going Home

We brought Luke home on June 4th! We had such a great stay at the hospital, but it was exciting to be a family again...only difference...we're now a family of FOUR!

Breech Brothers

It looks like I carry and deliver breech babies! Dr. Barnes explained that there really isn't a medical reason why I have had two breech babies, but it is sorta neat that I have had it happen twice. They both have perfect little heads...partly due to the c-section and also because they were breech. The nurses can always spot a breech baby before being told simply by their legs and head.

Which brother am I????

This little guy was in the footling breech position. This means his legs were straight.

This little guy was either in the complete breech position or what they call the "frank position". My guess is the complete position based on the doctor's comments...I forgot to ask.

If you looked at the date on pic, you quickly realized that the first pic is Luke and the second one is Jack!

Jack and Luke

The day arrived when our boys met one another. We had anxiously awaited this day for awhile with the understanding that a variety of emotions could be expressed by our older guy! :) So, we waited until the day after Luke's birth to do the introductions. This was best, because I had a chance to have my monitors, machines, etc. unhooked from me. I was able to move around, and J didn't have to be curious about what was going on with Mommy.

He was happy to see Mommy and Daddy despite the enormous amount of attention being given to him at home.

Much to our surprise, J was initially very interested in Little Brother.

Then, we took Luke out to give Jack a closer look.

It wasn't long before he was ready to move onto the other things in my room! This was completely fine for us, and it gave me a chance to wipe the tears from the sweet experience we had just witnessed. Both boys had a gift for one another. We tried to keep it pretty simple. J brought L a puppy lovey that is very similar to his Froggy lovey that he STILL adores!

L had a Mickey ball for J. We told J that L wanted to get him a ball so that they could play ball together one day.

Thanks, Luke!

Finally, we got some pictures of the two brothers and each of us with our BOYS!

Many of these pics show J saying "Luke...ooh-k". This was so sweet to us! J will boldly tell you that his little brother is "Ooh-k"!
